“Local Hero”

Entrepreneurs have the power to galvanise and change whole communities and regions, creating jobs and wealth. Britain needs such local heroes and heroines more than ever.

Many entrepreneurs are proud daughters and sons of their local areas, and go the extra mile to ensure that these places survive and thrive. This award recognizes such people for the first time, on one national platform.

Candidates could have: run a successful business that has created wealth and sustainable employment; supported a valuable local project; or provided leadership over an extended period to their community.

This award isn't just about scale; the judges will want to see a real commitment to a local community or region. It's the imagination and story that matters most.
